NEW-Provincial Intent Process Information for 2026-2027
Ringette Ontario Releases New Team Formation Policies for 2026-2027 Season
Ringette Ontario has introduced a fully updated Team Formation Policy that will take effect for the 2026-2027 season. These changes replace all previous guidance and introduce a more consistent, province-wide approach to athlete evaluation and team selection.
The new policy applies to U14-U19 divisions across AA, A, B, and C levels.
Key Changes for 2026-2027
Removal of the Closest-Association Matrix
Athletes are no longer required to evaluate with the association geographically closest to them. This update provides families with greater flexibility and may shift tryout participation across clubs.
Underage Players No Longer Permitted
Underage athletes will not be eligible for team placement.
Exception: Underage participation may be approved only in cases of team viability and must receive formal approval from Ringette Ontario.
Unified Provincial Policy
The new framework replaces all previous team formation documents. Associations must align their tryout processes, communication, and timelines with the updated provincial standards.
